I’ve been launching apps by searching by name for years now this picker is way better than typing the name!īeyond that Niagara has a limited but thoughtful set of features to help you keep the home screen clean and minimal. Then the rest of the navigation is based on a really neat rolodex UI that lets you pick an app out of a list alphabetized by name. Niagara has you choose ~8 apps for the home screen (as seen above). That’s a pretty major change to phone UI and I really like it. The big change I switched from Pixel Launcher and Nova Launcher to Niagara Launcher. It’s free but it’s worth paying a few bucks for the premium unlock. You can use it on its own without the other stuff. (The pink screenshot is without the dark setting.) Tapet has been around a long time and is great. It’s tweakable, I’ve set it to 60% Adaptive Dark and 10% Blur so the images are less distracting. That’s an app that makes a new abstract image once an hour. The simplest part is the screen background, generated by Tapet. I like the result, here’s screenshots from my phone and tablet. I switched from the usual “grid of random icons” to a clean monochrome look. I just completely changed how my Android devices look and couldn’t be happier. ![]()
